Triforce slouchy hat, inspired by April's designs

With permission from the lovely April Folts, I have posted a reproduction of her hat, the Zelda Triforce Hat. My design is actually a mixture between the triforce hat and the Plain Slouch Hat, both of which are of her design and free patterns on her blog. I augmented the triforce, so it's larger...it was easier for me get my stitch numbers correct as a result, so that was nice, and the lengths vary a bit from her hat pattern, but I still give her full credit for the design. She's pretty fuckin' win, and so are her patterns. I ended up making a solid blue one for my brother, and a stripey hat for another friend of mine. They both really love their hats. ^-^ The stripey one came out nicer, but I guess I just like the colors better. :P More variety, more pleasing to the eye, yuno wat i meen. I'm sorely tempted to make a teeny tiny one for Natalie...it would be mega cutesauce, yuno wat im saiyan? Anyway, without further interruption, here they be.

(Also, note the pre-haircut. It was long.)

This is the first hat I made, for my brother. It's solid blue with the triforce on the back. Natalie was wiggly and fussy, so she's a blurrybutt in these pics.

I don't know how many times I started over on this thing...nearly ten, I know that much. The color around the triforce wasn't originally white, either. :/ I couldn't figure out how I wanted the colors/stripes to look. But once I thought about it (again) and started over (again), I came up with this and breathed a sigh of relief. :P

(Also, note the post-haircut. It's short.)

This is the second hat I made, for my friend Brooke. It's a bit longer than Michel's, for girly factor...and because I have a thing for symmetry, so all of my stripes had to be the same length. lol. She asked me to make it before Talie was born, and I just finished it recently. lol...You know how newborns are. Well, maybe you do.

Here are the links to the patterns I used. Yes, it's a mixture, so you'll have to figure out how to make it work. I did, but the results are pretty stellar. :D

Thanks again, April, for being so awesome at hats. <3
